Fashion Designer
Born in Kisslegg, South Germany in 1968, Lupfer studied fashion design in his home country before transferring to London’s University of Westminster, graduating in 1997 with first class honours. His final year collection was sold to London boutique Koh Samui, instantly marking him out as a serious talent with a strong commercial edge. Following his graduation, Lupfer went to work with Clements Ribeiro, a training that is still evident today in his skill with knitwear, and established his own label a year later in 1998. Lupfer has been an ‘on-schedule’ London Fashion Week presence since 1999 and is currently one of the event’s biggest attractions for international buyers and press. The Spring-Summer 2002 season saw the launch of Lupfer’s accessory range, reiterating his reputation for desirable and expertly finished pieces in worked or woven leather. Lupfer has also collaborated with influential high street retailer TopShop since 1999, for whom he produces a capsule collection.
