i-D and Diesel proudly announce the launch of the Soul i-D Exhibition at Christie's Contemporary Hangar Gallery, which marks the London leg of the inspirational exhibition currently kicking its way around the world. Created and curated by Terry and Tricia Jones, Soul i-D celebrates the publication of a 600-page book of the same name and follows hot on the heels of November's exhibition at Azzedine Alaia's gallery in Paris, which attracted over 5,000 visitors in three weeks! London's opening night welcomed the youngest/oldest, hottest/coldest movers and shakers to sidle up, sip champagne, quaff Belvedere vodka cocktails, nibble delicious canapés and look at the heart and soul of modern society via a brilliant display of photography, personal quotes and anecdotes.
Contributors past and present bumped heads, new acquaintances were formed and soon friends became family whilst enveloped by a selection of carefully edited art, hung beautifully around the space which formed the shape of a giant eye when looked at from a bird's perspective. Featuring contributions from the likes of Mr. Giorgio Armani, Marc Jacobs, Miuccia Prada, Paul Smith, Tracey Emin, Yoko Ono, Terry Richardson, Juergen Teller and Wolfgang Tillmans among others, the exhibition is currently open and free to the public. Pop down and inhale the poignant life affirming creative statements, just make sure you learn something and remember to pass it on.
